Rosie

I studied and practice my profession within the borders of the European standard sizes 36, 38, 40. As I only do “one of a kind” pieces, I go with an instant feeling that decides which size the new garment will have. I like to create in-between sizes and in few occasions I go outside my limits and design a size 34 or 42. I am a keen and analytical learner, I take my time to learn, to improve and to develop my working skills and in the past 12 years I constantly focused on this process. Creating standard sizes that are not in my usual range (such as baby, curvy, petite or pregnancy) requires new abilities and investments. When I met my model Kirsten Mackay, I knew that it was about time to try to develop a new range of designs dedicated to women with curves. She is so beautiful, inspiring and natural! To my astonishment, I found out that she has it very difficult to find feminine, stylish and body caressing dresses and I then realized that we (dressmakers and fashion designers) learn at school on relatively small sizes, mostly EU 36 and 38. And, unfortunately, the mass media, advertising agencies, department stores etc. promote these “basic” looks.

Retro size” is Kirsten’s notion to my new range, a definition that symbolizes femininity, glamour and understated vanity.

Rosie is my first collection from the "retro size" line and I feel that the result gives me the confidence to continue to create for ladies that love their curves and every millimeter of their physical and spiritual body.

Hanna

I got to know Hanna Maria Schatovich last year, soon after she opened her style and beauty coaching business. She has a tremendous work load, to manage her contracts, but still has the energy to organize side projects and events, such as various business interviews or the seasonal Fashiontalk.

One of my first photoshoots in 2017 was organized by Hanna at my showroom, everything was a delight. I am in love with the result! She is a master at connecting creative minds and it was an honour to work with such talents!

Three Days With Alexandra, Day I

Vienna has many faces, secrets, stories and moods... I love to explore new places or re-discover those, where I like to spend my private or professional time. Alexandra is one of my models from Bucharest and she was my guest, together with our friend and colleague, Sorina Dumitrescu.

They drove from Bucharest to Vienna and our plan was, to organize a three days documentation of some of the places that surround my atelier and home. I absolutely adore my district and it wasn’t easy to a make a selection, I would have needed several weeks. :-)

Moonlight Mist – My New Couture Headpieces Collection

I usually need 12 – 15 months to work and finish a couture headpieces & hair adornments collection. I started to design Moonlight Mist last summer, it is my third collection and it sums up to 11 pieces.

Every headpiece is conceived by me and crafted together with my master teacher (she consults and directs me since five years), I feel so fortunate and grateful that I can learn and explore such a beautiful, creative and skillful profession! Couture millinery and silk flowers crafting professions are dying out as less and less of us truly have the passion, time and dedication to construct from 0 an accessory that is valued and purchased by only a few (mostly arts & crafts lovers). We hand cut, form, dye, every petal, leave, stamina that create a silk or lace flower; we construct every branch and feather; we hand sew every stone, pearl and crystal...

Clarisse & the Wild Olive

One of my latest projects, that I am very proud of and very happy about, was organized in Bucharest, my home town. It is my second occasion to work with a Romanian team in Bucharest and it’s an absolute pleasure and thrill to bring to Vienna the results of such a dedicated and skilled team! I would first like to introduce Wild Olive African Artisans Apothecary, our shoot location, a divine space and concept, that was envisioned by a dear childhood friend of mine, Mărioara. She established the brand in Cape Town and brought it to Bucharest a couple of years ago. The high end organic body care products combined with an individual artistic approach make this brand so special! The store managers made us feel like home :) Wedding and portrait photographer Ioan Stoica was highly recommended by his colleagues and I was so happy that he accepted to join the team. He worked so beautiful and focused! Our model, Mădălina, was a blessing to work with, she is a part of the best agency in Romania, MRA. Make-up and hair artists, Raluca and Aynan were delightful, kind, warm hearted and made the exact styling I was aiming for!

Thank you everyone!

Natural Romance

These bridal portraits of Sarah were taken on a sunny and charming spring afternoon in a magical garden outside of Vienna. Together with my mother and a small group of talented people, I spent a couple of delightful hours creating a little set of fairyland portraits.

On The Blue Shore Of Silence

I need the sea because it teaches me.
I don’t know if I learn music or awareness,
if it’s a single wave or its vast existence,
or only its harsh voice or its shining
suggestion of fishes and ships.
The fact is that until I fall asleep,
in some magnetic way I move in
the university of the waves.

Blissful Christmas Eve with Leonie

One of my most special collections is "I Am Leonie", designed in 2013. Leonie is the main character featured in the storyline: a fictional jewellery designer that wears my garments. One year later, during Brautsache fair, I was thrilled to meet a real life jewellery designer, named Leonie! She is the epitome of my character: talented, beautiful and naturally sophisticated. I asked her if she would like, one day, to do a photoshoot where we can display our work and simply share our joy that we got to know each other! She was very happy and a while later, we realized our project! I invited a couple of artist friends to join us and everyone loved the idea! We created a beautiful Christmas Eve story, a wonderful day filled with gifts exchange, champagne, cookies and our designs! Delicate photographer Skye Kiss captured lots of details and precious moments, playful interior decorator Mademoiselle Fée took care of the Christmas decorations and awesome Adriana Holban created a beautiful natural make-up for Leonie and me!

The Air Is Like Champagne

One of this summer’s inspirational shoots that I am especially proud of, was organized by Austrian photographer’s duo Natascha and Isabelle from belle & sass. They invited me to take part with one of my classical bridal dresses from my Gentle Fairies & The Golden Flowers line. From their first email, I was super happy; I already knew their work and loved to have the opportunity to be featured in one of their shoots!

Prête au mariage!

Nathalie is my fictional character in the recent bridal shoot that I organized this winter, Prête au mariage!

“Ready to marry!” portrays a few intimate moments before Nathalie is going to marry her beau, Damien. She fully enjoys the morning hours and adores the amazing mix of emotions... strong love, happiness and excitement fill her heart and mind!

Philtre D’amour

"Philtre d’amour" is the French expression for love potion, a cocktail of magical ingredients, prepared by a fairy or an imagined alchemist to create eternal love. Philtre d’amour is a vision that is featured in the storyline of my latest photoshoot.

Bodysuits At Għajn Tuffieħa Bay, Malta

This year I started to design body suits, they are a passion of mine since a long time. It takes good skills, specific fabrics and sewing tools to manufacture this type of garment, very similar to lingerie. The whole process kept me away from trying but after finding some beautiful fabrics, I asked my pattern maker to construct some classic patterns. I loved the result and I already made 10 pieces from different fabrics or fabric combinations!

Laura is the interior design passionate behind the blog feelinterieur.com where she shares her personal inspirations and offers an insight into beautiful homes, stylish restaurants and hotels. I met Laura through adorable Italian photographer Elena Azzalini and I felt so impressed and charmed by her noble, classic beauty! Elena was so delighted, after she had a portrait shoot with Laura, that I immediately wanted to have her in one of our inspirational bridal shoots!

Lay It On

“Lay It On” is the second photoshoot I’ve organized together with photographer Sorina Dumitrescu, at her studio in Bucharest. Like in the previous shoot we did, it features selected designs from both of my latest collections: Luna and Sunniva. The story depicts the stages of an actress’s preparing for her role.

Tempting Shadows

I want to mark the refreshment of the layout of my blog "Seams & Chronicles" with a selection of photos taken in Bucharest, this year. The photoshoot was the first that I ever organized in my home town, it was a wonderful experience and I will definitely repeat it with the next chance.

Portraits In My Atelier By Dina Lee

A couple of months ago, portrait photographer Dina Lee agreed to do a shoot in my atelier, the place where I love to be and feel the most confident. When I felt ready to be photographed, I wrote a message to Dina and set for a date in late January. She was very happy and excited to come to me and despite all the stress I had those days, I started to relax from the moment she arrived! She is a very calm and relaxed person; she spreads light and positive energy. We started three hours late as I had two unexpected meetings in town (Dina arrived to the atelier late afternoon) and the shoot overlapped with a bridal appointment I booked some weeks before. But I guess that’s the charm of my work: trying to blend the creative side with the business opportunities.

Luna

I’m so excited to present to you my latest collection, Luna. I absolutely love it; my vision, ideas, inspirations came perfectly together!
Luna has dark, flawless, arty and versatile designs; it mirrors the moon phases and the different seasons of the year. Every design carries the name of a star and is one of a kind. The predominant fabrics that I used are silks, laces, natural viscose and cottons.

Claudia Kusznirczuk: Friend & Passionate Collector of My Designs

I met Claudia in March 2003, our friendship is my longest in Austria and despite we haven’t seen each other for three years (2010-2013) we never lost the bond.

Claudia works since 15 years as a freelance painter; she loves art, colour compositions, artful objects and travels. Before becoming a mother of two adorable girls, she used to travel with her chevalet & tools to Tuscany and the country side of Romania and painted beautiful landscapes. Now, she likes to paint different sceneries as well as lots of abstract visions.

My first atelier, in the 7th District, I shared with Claudia for two years. From the beginning she was a fervent supporter of my work and my passion for design, she was besides me in the best moments but, most important, in the challenging and hard times of my life.
In five years, Claudia purchased from my atelier a mini collection of items, she loves them and what I appreciate greatly, is that she’s cherishing and taking best care of every dress.
