One of the most unique bloggers, Silia, from theviennesegirl.com, attended my second annual “A Fashion Day by Patricia Vincent” last Saturday. I am following her blog since a long time and consider it as both personally inspiring and generally outstanding, as she is always offering surprising views of the city we both decided to make our home, often uncovering hidden jewels. Her very individual approach, combined with the high standard of her content, text and pictures, makes me especially proud being featured on theviennesegirl.com. Please have a look at the beautiful photos she took at  this year’s “A Fashion Day by Patricia Vincent” and subscribe to her blog, you will not regret it.

Broadcasted at “Lumea si Noi” On TVR International – Full Length Reportage

I am so delighted to receive the most valuable professional gift ever!

In late October 2006 I opened my fashion design atelier. Managed it all by myself without any support, help or encouragement. Some people were laughing, others were concerned, some were indifferent... It was very difficult but always kept up the hope & a smile and now, 8 years later, I congratulate myself for taking the best decision! I built up my own universe filled with art, good design, hard work, challenges, achievements, amazing people, freedom and love. I always knew what I wanted and nobody will be able to turn me away from my dreams.

Thank You For Your Kind Support!

Just before I left on holidays, I've received a delightful surprise in the form of an email by Austrian magazine "Elite". I was informed that I made the top three on their list of best Austrian designers in the category "bridal design"! This short list was based on a public voting, that took place over the last three months. I feel very happy and honoured to be a part of their project (you should read up on it if you can, the current issue is available everywhere in Austria); it’s very rewarding to see, that my work, efforts and investment are appreciated and get recognized!

Patricia Vincent Nominated By Elite Magazine As One Of the Most Influential Bridal Labels In Austria

I am so grateful that finally, an Austrian media publisher opened the door to a subject that is persisting in my thoughts and line of work since years. To begin with, fashion design is everything I see I am going to do in my professional life, forever. I am not good at many things, but I am good at what I know best: transcending my visions, feelings or stories into designs. Sure, every day I learn new things; that’s one of the beautiful parts. I love to discover and apply what I find interesting or captivating. In the last years I’ve developed a deep sensitivity to nature, objects, arts or anything that I see is special. I do observe more thoughtful and intense than before I was working in this field.

Sometimes it’s so frustrating that some people don’t understand what my real job is ... I am not a tailor, I am not a typical fashion person, I don’t live a stereotypical designer’s life (or what some might think it looks like), I am not rich and neither intend to become, I don’t follow trends. But, that being said, I do see all professions in the field of fashion as connected and therefore wish, that there would be more of a common understanding amongst us, just as I think our customers would profit from understanding the concept of fashion as a more inclusive one.

I often hear: “Oh, have you seen that dress in the magazine? You should do it!” ... “The dress you’ve made is so pretty but I’m not gonna buy it because I have no occasion to wear it!” ... “For long I didn’t have the courage to enter in your atelier because I thought you are too expensive!” ... “I know nothing about fashion, it’s not me!”

It’s almost impossible to educate the masses, to tell them about individuality and the fact we should dress for ourselves, for our self esteem and pleasure not for particular places / occasions / other people. And yes, it’s so beautiful to invest some thoughts to define and explore your personality through little details such as a good perfume, music, a certain type of dressing style or even lifestyle. We are individuals, but many tend to forget this essential quality.

There is so much confusion, ignorance or simply lack of education...

The bright side comes from my customers. They share my beliefs and understand exactly who they are. I love to see well dressed people (man & women), I have a high admiration for those that cherish and respect themselves, most important for those that are happy with their lives. One example is Erika Zahl–Berg, she is such an inspiration!

Having a beautiful appearance and style of living is not about money, race, age or high beauty standards but our desire to pursue it.

Last week I’ve received a nice email from elite magazine, I am one of the fourteen bridal designers nominated as the most regarded in Austria. It came as such a pleasant surprise!

Three years ago, after five years of fashion design, I started to add bridal wear to my portfolio. I knew that there are women out there that don’t want to have a Cinderella, polyester dress. Sure, there are a few great bridal designers in Austria, but I was very much encouraged to do wedding wear by many of my friends, especially by wedding photographer, Claire Morgan and Wedding Affairs organisers, Niely Hoetsch and Michaela Honies. I am insanely in love with doing my style of bridal dresses; it’s so exciting to bring to life some elements from the tradition of Sinziene, the coziness of the Provence or the understatement of the Scandinavian design. Most importantly, by not compromising on dreams, fabrics quality or harmony.

© Elisabeth Feldner

Today, after eight years of doing fashion design, I see that my efforts are more and more appreciated, my work gets a wider visibility and new horizons open.

Thank you, elite for adding me to your esteemed list!

Interviewed by Diana Robu, Ziare.com

About a week ago, I surprisingly received a beautiful and very professional email from journalist Diana Robu. She asked if I would be interested to answer a few questions regarding my profession, my life in Vienna and the connection that I keep to my homeland Romania. She also wrote that she is working for Ziare.com, which is regularly publishing articles about exceptional Romanians abroad.

I felt flattered and proud, so I happily answered that I would be honoured to be a part of their series of articles.

Yesterday the interview has been published! Here, you can access it.

Seen by Artists, Part II

Garden Fete: Limited Edition Print by Stephanie Levy

One of the beautiful surprises I received this December came from artist & illustrator Stephanie Levy. She published on her blog a loving review about my latest work as a part of her 12 Countries in 12 Months final report. You can read it here.

We first met in July 2011 when she started her art, travel & interview project. For one year, she travelled each month to a new city in Europe, where she interviewed artists, took photos, tasted regional treats, and soaked up the local culture. The cities included on the tour were: Vienna, Amsterdam, Berlin, Venice, Prague, Lisbon, Barcelona, Budapest, London, Paris, Athens, and Stockholm. All interviews you can read here.

Very interesting to know, on January the 28th 2013, Stephanie will launch a new international e-course season: Creative Courage. It is a guide to help you discover your own unique path and give you the practical tools you need to start making your dreams real. It's very inspiring, looking forward! More info, here.

Seen by Artists, Part I

Lately I’ve been featured in two blog articles; they both came as an unexpected, beautiful surprise.

I will start with Pia Clodi’s warm and sweet summary about my atelier. Honestly, I didn’t know that she will write about me and my work until I read the post. Her photos look so original that at first I didn’t recognize my “baby” = atelier from the preview photo she posted on her business facebook page. Then, reading the text and admiring the photos I couldn’t stop smiling of pleasure and pride! It brought me joy and sweetness:
